Women’s History fun facts: March 24th, 2015

1: From 1910 to 1925, almost all blues singers were female.

2: In the era when it was not seen as appropriate for women to become authors, famous writers such as Jane Austen wrote under pen names.

3: The people who set the world record for highest IQ ever recorded are both women.

4: Every year, over 60% of U.S. college degrees are earned by women.

5: There are more than 7 times the amount of women in the army today than there were in 1950.

6: At one point, Queen Victoria controlled land on almost every continent.

7: The first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel was Annie Edison Taylor, a schoolteacher who survived the daring stunt on October 24th, 1901.
