Women’s History fun facts: March 17th, 2015
1. The first novel ever made, The Tale of Genji, was written by Murasaki Shikibu, a female author who lived around 1000 A.D.
2. The first female professional baseball player was Virne “Jackie” Mitchell, a pitcher.
3. In 1924, during the first Winter Olympic Games, the only event open for women was Figure Skating.
4. Women were banned from competing in the Olympic Track & Field events until 1928.
