3 things I learned July 30 & July 31

Sorry everyone! I couldn’t go to Sealab today or yesterday because I am sick :( don’t lose faith in me, though! I will probably have some good facts for you tomorrow. Stay in touch!

3 things I learned July 27

Here’s what I learned on the last day of the week! To start, there is a man who sells 55,000 geoduck clams a year! In the Bermuda Triangle, there are high magnetic fields that make compasses spin wildly. And for the last fact of the week, there are two different submarines called a bathysphere and a bathyscaphe! More fun facts next week!

3 things I learned July 26

Today was swimming day and also our swimming test. I think I did pretty good!

3 things I learned July 25

Here’s what I learned today in the middle of the week at Sealab! On a whaling journey, usually the most difficult part of your voyage would be Cape Horn. When a whale was harpooned, if it dove underwater, the harpooner would cut the line to avoid going under with it. And finally, did you know that whale vomit is sometimes used in perfume? It’s true! More facts coming at you tomorrow!

3 things I learned July 24

Here’s what I learned today at Sealab! To start, did you know that all shells that you find at the beach originally had something living in them? Also, if you write with a pencil on a sea scallop shell, the marks will not show up. And last, if fish scales didn’t overlap, the scales would stick out! More facts tomorrrow!

3 things I learned July 23

Here is what I learned at the beginning of my third week of Sealab! First, if two tectonic plates get stuck while they slide past each other, it causes an earthquake. Second, hurricanes can sometimes be completely unpredictable. Third, when oysters make a pearl, they leave a mark where it was made! See you tomorrow!

3 things I learned July 20

Here is what I learned at the end of my second week at Sealab! First off, one of the worst infections you can get is a saltwater infection. Next, if you were lost somewhere, you could give someone a call, and if you told them your exact coordinates, they could find you. And lastly, picking up a dead crab will make you very ill! Look out for more facts next week!
