Girl plays the “sheng”

But what is the “sheng”, you ask? The sheng is a Chinese mouth-blown free reed musical instrument consisting of multiple vertical pipes – actually, maybe it would just be better to show you the sheng in action. Enjoy this video of a girl using the sheng to play music from Super Mario Bros!

Random factoid of the day

Just thought I would give you a random fact to ponder about. The standard unit of mass is the kilogram, but in the UK, their unit is called the slug! Do you have any quick and weird facts you want me to post? Let me know!

Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive” on piano

I like Imagine Dragons, but not to the point that I would consider myself a fan. However, their song “Radioactive” on the Synthesia Piano is (in my opinion) WAY better than the original version. Have a listen:

(I did not make this cover)

Pretty good, no? I think so. If you have any good song covers for me, please share!

Random Fact of the Day

Just thought I would give you a random fact to think about. This was sent in from my good friend Patrick: Did you know that the odds of winning the lottery are the same odds of getting mauled by a polar bear and a regular bear in the same day? Who would have thought? All credit goes to Patrick Lawrence for the fact. Do you have any facts you want me to post? Leave a comment!

Animals you’ve got to see to believe

Every now and then we should all get in touch with our wild side and bring out our inner animals. However, some animals seem to be to strange to be real. This is certainly the case with…strange-animals-you-didnt-know-2…The beautiful Maned Wolf…

strange-animals-you-didnt-know-6…the ferocious Tufted Deer…

strange-animals-you-didnt-know-16…or the bizarre Sunda Colugo!

If that’s not enough weirdness, you can find even more strange animals here. Do you have a strange animal you want to share? Leave a comment!
