Hey, check out these awesome pencil sculptures here, by a guy named Dalton Ghetti. He’s been doing carpentry for over 25 years, so this is a small project for him. Of course, he’s broken a few, so he keeps the broken ones in the “cemtery collection”. And he never sells them – he only gives them away to friends. Nice job, Dalton!
Hey! Just wanted to show you these cool pictures taken at Cat Heaven Island in Japan. Check them out here. You don’t need the soundtrack, although it’s fitting and funny. Enjoy these incredible pics!
Happy New Year! A lot of us have seen the famous Ball Drop Ritual in New York City on TV, where a huge ball slowly drops to mark the new year. That’s all well and nice, but wouldn’t like to see something ELSE drop? Like a giant peach? or a gigantic Marshmallow Peep? or even a colossal Hershey’s Kiss? And if you have kids, wouldn’t you like it to be family friendly? Well, your wish is granted! Here’s a link to some of strangest ball drops that are also family friendly. Consider going to one, some even have early drops for the kids if bedtime comes before midnight. Check out all nine here. Besides, who doesn’t want to see a giant acorn?
I just recently found out about this awesome guy who draws panoramas of big cities – all from memory! Stephen Wiltshire has just drawn an 18-foot panorama of New York City, after just a 20-minute helicopter flight over the city. And it’s all from memory! Stephen has also done panoramas of other cities including a 52-foot drawing of Tokyo, and a sketch of Rome so detailed that it even included the exact number of columns on the Parthenon. No wonder he’s now the envy of Artists everywhere! Check out the full story here.
On a completely unrelated note, check out this picture of a close-up of a butterfly’s wing scales:
Wow. I didn’t know butterflies could have such great photo opportunities so close up! Remember to tell your friends everything you learned, and comment to let me know what you got from everything!
