Fish File: sun starfish

the fish of the day today is the sun starfish! you’ll notice that it has about a dozen arms. i will explain. like most starfish, they start out with 5 arms, but as they grow, they grow even more arms! unfortunately, they only live 3-5 years. that’s alright! at least they get their chance here! see you soon!!!

Fish File: horseshoe crab

today’s fish is the horseshoe crab! now here is a strange thing about them. they may look normal, but horseshoe crabs have blue blood! the reason is because they don’t have the same stuff in their blood as humans do. also, if you ever see one in real life, or even in a picture, remember that even though it looks like it has 2 eyes, it has more than 2! stick around for more Fish Files!

Fish File: parrot fish

this here is my next fish, the parrot fish! it sure lives up to its name, since it has a parrot-like beak for a mouth. but silly as it looks, it can be quite useful for getting yummy algae and coral off rocks! the parrot fish can also squeeze into confined & constricted spaces. that wont work with hiding from a shark, though! keep an eye out for more Fish Files! Fish File: coelacanth

hello. today i’d like to show you this prehistoric fish, the coelacanth. this fish was thought to be extinct for 85,000 years, but in 1938, a man caught one while fishing! since then, it has been identified as a “fish from the past”, and is still studied today. what a dinosaur! it has survived from the devonian era to now. seriously! expect more Fish Files posts coming soon!
